Perila is a St. Petersburg-born, Berlin-based sound and visual artist, DJ and performer exploring sensitive borderlines and depths of subtle matter. She is a co-founder of radio.syg.ma, WET boss and is also engaged in several other music projects such as Aseptic Stir. Her music is dense narratives drifting through a rich sound palette submerging a listener into a pretty personal trip. Constantly shifting moods and textures, Perila creates comfort space for emotions to float, merge, evaporate and ride in a deep context. Her practice is aimed to challenge and overcome boundaries and share this expansion with the Other.
Artist notes:
corridor between days
touching experience
playing piano there is so much emotion in the way you touch the keys
the more i play the more i have a feelin of having sex with it
literally with my fingers
i talk life
patting chords
tension
release
echo
its like water
such a free form of allowing yourself to feel
sonic reflection of a mind state transmitted by touch
patting the air you in
i love being alone catching ones breath and carrying it with the melody of inside this feeling when you wake up being so many places just a second ago
this feeling waking up and its another day
how did it happen?
in dreams we see echoes of days
how deep is that tunnel
i wish i could run there and sing whenever i want
in one breath
in one breath
i’m overwhelmed by digital by speed of life
for me this was a new door of being
as quiet as possible
as raw as now
as present as it can be
you listen you get lost you carried away
you wake up
or is it still a dream
our minds like to frame a notion to word it up
but whether you awaken or still dreaming
only you can tell
but even this knowing is illusive
and the next moment you asleep again
the less the more you listen
maybe
when i listen to my fingers touching the keys
feet touching the pedal
its this warmth of closeness
the real becoming a dream
every time i release myself
i wanna go as many places as possible places i never been and never will be i'm an experience

For me deep listening is the way to feel life, self and be here. The deeper you go the more quiet you become and silence becomes the purest form of music as there is never silence as we know it. I want people to pause and detach from the reality, feel something, go somewhere in their heads they never been, explore, experience. Its been always pretty major but nowadays i think its essential to give yourself that space as this could be a tunnel to know yourself better and hear yourself. Reconnecting with the self makes you present in the world. Its good to be present but also losing your head in a sound cave just because there is no other way to deal with this reality. At least for me it is the way.

My god, what an absolutely incredible Suite. I'll admit, I've struggled to get into Pharoah Sanders due to diving headfirst into some of his most challenging catalogue and that never worked. This is the perfect place to restart. Floating Points is new for me and I can honestly say I've never heard synthesizer music this lush and organic before. the LSO is just perfect. This is one of those albums that any serious music fan needs in their life. The perfect swan song for the great Pharaoh! 5/5 ClassyMusicSnob
